I completed supervised experiences in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. During my training, I was supervised on work with individuals, couples and families, as well as groups. My primary modality is Systems Theory as I believe none of us operate in a vacuum. It is important to consider family, home, friends, school, community supports, and so on when exploring solutions and instituting changes in order to achieve your goals.
In 2023, I started a year long fellowship in Nutritional Mental Health. I am excited to have more resources to assist you in restoring your mental health.
Students who are not having difficulties with material but rather with adjustment or life circumstances may benefit best from counseling. Where as students who have difficulties with organization, study strategies or passing courses may benefit from academic coaching. The best thing to do is the schedule a brief phone consultation. We can discuss options and determine the service that is best for you.
I strive to protect your privacy and hold the information you share during your counseling sessions as confidential. I adhere to the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) and legal requirements of the North Carolina Board of Psychology. There are, however, some exceptions to confidentiality. I am required to release certain information in situations in which there is potential harm to yourself or others, in instances of abuse/neglect of vulnerable populations, such as children, the elderly, or as a result of a court order. Whereas these types of events are extremely rare, you should know that these possibilities exist. My goal is to make the counseling a safe place. I am happy to address these concerns further in our initial session.
Sessions are billed at a rate of $200 per clinical hour; $150 for 45 clinical minutes; $100 per clinical 30 minutes .
I am in-network with many BlueCross BlueShield Plans and am a part of the Blue Network; Tricare and Medicare. Please verify with your individual plan, that I am in-network. You are responsible for charges according to your plans coverage. All other insurances are out-of-network. With out-of-network insurance, you pay the above rate and your insurance reimburses you according to your policy. A missed session fee of $50 may be charged if you fail to cancel an appointment or do not show up for a scheduled appointment.
Payment is due at the end of every session. I accept cash, check, Visa, Master Card, American Express, Flex Spending and Health Saving Account debit/credit cards. If you are unsure if I will accept your form of payment please ask prior to the scheduling your appointment. If your check is returned for insufficient funds, you are responsible for the full amount of the check and the bank fee charged to Cycle of Life Counseling. You may complete additional paperwork to keep your card on file.
I do not provide this service. My office is located in a building with other businesses and services and so there is not a space that accommodates child care at my current location. Children cannot be left unattended in the lobby. It is best to make other arrangements or schedule appointments when your child/ren are at school or daycare. I know this can be challenging. I believe that a healthier you creates conditions for a healthier family.
