This is usually the first time we get to meet each other. This is a brief 20 minute meeting to make sure I have the skill set to help you reach your goals and that I am a good fit for you.
This is also where I can answer your questions about therapy and the process, insurance, scheduling.
If we are a good fit, your insurance, if you are using it, will be verified. Once Insurance is verified we will set up our Initial Session.
Insurance is usually verifies in a week or less and scheduling can be 2-4 weeks out depending on my availability. The paperwork is sent through the secure on-line portal to be completed.
I understand that I am not a good fit for everyone. If that is the case, I am usually able to assist you in finding resources that would be a better fit.
This is your first appointment. It is about 60 minutes for Individuals & up to 90 minutes for Families and Couples.
If you are comfortable, you will be asked to fill out paperwork prior to this appointment on the computer through a secure online portal.
This appointment allows the time to understand what is currently bringing you to counseling, as well as pertinent history, review of completed forms completion, any additional paperwork and the next steps regarding counseling. This is where we start to formulate therapeutic goals and what your increased wellness could look like. We also discuss the frequency of our sessions and what it looks like as we approach ending our sessions.
This appointment is the beginning of our counseling relationship.
All sessions with the client (individual/couple/family) after the initial session appointment.
